Appointments System

The doctors and nurses at the practice see patients by a booked appointment.  You should book your appointment through e-consult on the homepage, register for online booking on the homepage or through reception.

You can usually book an appointment up to a month in advance.

If you request an appointment you will be offered the next available routine appointment.  We keep a small number of appointments in reserve for urgent problems.  If you think your problem is too urgent to wait for the next available routine appointment you may be able to have a reserved urgent appointment.  Please only book this if your problem is medically urgent.

Please tell the doctor or nurse as soon as possible if you require a chaperone.

Patients with symptoms of diarrhoea/ vomiting to be booked via the e-consultation tab on homepage. This is to minimise the risk of spreading an infection to others.

Patients who have suffered trauma/ accident or a fall are to go to Accident & Emergency department in hospital, in order to manage your complaint more appropriately.

Referrals

In the event of a missed, queried or cancelled hospital appointment at Barts Trust (Including Whipps Cross Hospital), this would include missing or delayed correspondence and blood test results please contact the referral helpline directly :

020 7377 7074       bhnt.airs@nhs.net

When necessary we can arrange for you to see medical specialists or therapists.  You must decide whether you wish to do this within the NHS or privately.  If you want to go privately you will normally be asked to collect the referral letter and arrange your own appointment.

If you have been in hospital and need to see the GP when you return home you must arrange this.  The GP does not normally make unrequested visits.

There is no need to see the GP just to report about your appointment with the specialist.  Only book an appointment to see the GP if there is something useful they may be able to do.
